AFC Performance Training Center
About the Performance Training Center
The Association Football Club (AFC) Performance Training Center opened its doors in April of 2024 with the goal of providing the club a true home and a place where we could offer our players an elite training environment.
AFC’s performance training center offers a wide array of amenities including a regulation turf futsal field, a soccer-specific gym and weight training area, a classroom & video review room, and a separate conference room.
AFC uses this facility primarily for team practices, specialist trainings, SAQ and strength training, coach education, and team meetings & video sessions.
Location
Located at 210 Hegenberger Loop in Oakland, our performance center is strategically located to be within a 15-20 minute commute for the vast majority of our players residing in Oakland, Piedmont, Castro Valley, Alameda, and Hayward.
From a safety standpoint, we are tucked away in a gated facility away from any major thoroughfares and with ample secured parking.
The Field
The facility offers a FIFA regulation-sized futsal field (27 meters x 21 meters) using artificial turf (35mm pile height) over a safety shock pad (10mm) to reduce the risk of injury. The field includes one 11v11 goal for full striker & goalkeeper training, two futsal goals, four target goals, six free kick mannequins, agility poles, and goal-mounted targets.
The Gym
To provide elite SAQ and strength training, we have designed a gym specifically for soccer players. Our gym includes three treadmills, three stationary bikes, free weights, two squat racks, multiple benches, box jump boxes, three TRX systems, hex trap bars, a push sled, medicine balls, kettle bells, resistance bands, yoga balls & mats, and foam rollers.
Providing a place for teams to meet is imperative. In designing the performance centers, we built a classroom offering a cinema size screen for video reviews and a soccer-specific whiteboard allowing coaches to walk their teams through strategy and tactics.
